My name is Jesse.
I don’t see the world, but the world will hear me.

I wake up where horns are my alarm,
Where Lagos breathes fire into my lungs
And my guitar is the only friend that sleeps beside me.
Tap, tap, tap — my cane against concrete,
Counting the steps between “nobody” and “somebody.”

I’m on these streets alone,
Carrying melodies in a bowl they think is for coins.
They see the darkness in my eyes
And assume my life ends there too.
“Sorry,” they whisper.
“God bless you,” they mutter.
But I don’t need your sorrow — I need your belief.

Support is scarce here.
Friends turn thin when the road gets long.
One said “we go make am together,”
Then vanished when the night got darker than my sight.
Now he’s back saying “forgive me, I no go fail you again.”
But I’ve learned to produce my own backup,
To write my own chorus of survival.

They told me disability means disqualified.
That blind boys don’t headline shows,
That stadiums are not built for men who can’t see the stage.
But what they don’t know is this:
Closing my eyes didn’t shut my vision.
It turned the volume up on everything else.

I don’t see traffic, I hear rhythm.
I don’t see faces, I feel frequency.
I don’t see lights, but lightning strikes my mind
Every time a new song is born.
Disability didn’t empty me.
It engineered me.
It taught my hands to see,
Taught my soul to mix pain into platinum.

So when you listen to my Afrofusion,
Don’t hear a blind man singing.
Hear a man who turned night into notation.
Hear proof that “impossible” is just a word
Scared of people who refuse to quit.
